Aims & Objectives :

  • Increase understanding of the influences of culture and faith/belief systems on parenting;

  • Display confidence in talking about their own and other people’s attitudes and beliefs – and how these might affect their judgment when providing services and therefore explore the role of bias in decision making;

  • Demonstrate cultural competence and professional curiosity when leading or joining in assessments or offering any other services to children and their families;

  • Understand the legislation and procedures for safeguarding;

  • Outline the key local issues related to the course topics.
