Missing out? Know your rights as a carer
If you are caring for someone at the moment find out more about your rights and how to get help from Carer's UK.
Carer's UK has a great new guide for 2017 ‘Looking after someone’ for anyone caring for family or friends. The guide outlines your rights as a carer and gives an overview of the practical and financial support available.
The guide is divided into helpful sections:
- Getting help and support
- Your finances and your work
- A Carer’s Guide (an illustrated introduction to the challenges of caring, from making difficult decisions to looking after your health and wellbeing)
Action on Elder Abuse - Join a Peer Support Programme
Action on Elder Abuse offer a Peer Support Programme for survivors of Elder Abuse.
The aim of the programme is to bring together older people so that they can support each other.
The objective is to provide a peer support network which enables survivors of elder abuse to achieve full recovery and put the trauma of abuse behind them.
The programme matches victims of elder abuse with a volunteer buddy who will support their buddy either over the phone, in person, or within the local community.
If you are interested in joining the scheme, please contact Action on Elder Abuse at firstname.lastname@example.org
