Curiosity and capability: inclusive practice in safeguarding adults

This year’s London SAB conference created a space to explore cultural capability and equity in adult safeguarding. As part of this, it shined a light on discriminatory abuse, which remains under-reported and frequently overlooked.

The conference explored how professional curiosity, and respectful uncertainty can support more inclusive and effective safeguarding practice.

The presentations from the conference are all below.

The conference also marked the launch of the revised London Multi-Agency Adult Safeguarding Policy, Practice Guidance, and Procedures and is aimed at people working at all levels with adult safeguarding responsibilities.

Introduction to the new Appendix supporting cultural capability in the Pan-London Procedures (Louise Rabbitte)

Shining a light on discriminatory abuse: Messages from research, policy, and practice (Karl Mason)

Challenging Discriminatory Abuse through Professional Curiosity in Safeguarding Adults Legal Mandates, Practice Complexities, and Future Directions (Ann Anka)
